Mike Baxter to DL; Ramon (Not Elvin) Ramirez, Too

Good thing that Johan Santana was able to complete his no-hitter — Mike Baxter will miss the next six weeks because of injuries he sustained while making that incredible catch to preserve the bid.

“Mike Baxter has a displacement of his right collarbone, next to his sternum. He also has fractured rib cartilage. He’s going to be out for a period of time,’’ Terry Collins said. “Both of his injuries are on the right side, by the way. It was his left shoulder we thought he hurt. That should tell you how hard he hit it.’’

Also, it was Ramon Ramirez, not Elvin Ramirez as was initially reported, who hurt his hamstring during the no-hitter celebration. He’s headed to the disabled list.

So the Mets get their first no-hitter, but it comes with a price.
