As a kid, my favorite Met was Rusty Staub. To this day, he is still my all-time favorite player. So I never dreamed I would have the chance to hang out with him. But I am going to do just that on Tuesday.
I have been invited along with a few other Mets bloggers, a couple of fans and donors to Staub’s charity to take part in a Google Hangout with “Le Grande O’range.” The charity is New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund, which Staub started after he retired in 1985 to help the widow’s and children of New York City first responders killed in the line of duty.
We will be talking with Rusty Staub about his career with the Mets as well as his charitable work. You can submit a question on Twitter using the hashtag #RustyLive. You can also send me a question that you’d like me to ask him.
I can’t wait to hang out with Rusty Staub!
