Matt Harvey Wins GIBBY

The Mets and MLB announced on Tuesday that Matt Harvey has won a GIBBY. Yes, that’s apparently a thing.

GIBBY cleverly stands for Greatness in Baseball Yearly Awards. Harvey was named Breakout Pitcher of the Year in a vote of media, front office personnel, MLB alumni and fans.

There are 22 categories, and Mets were nominated in a few, but they all apparently lost except for Harvey. And really, who cares? GIBBY? It reminds me of when Felix Unger won a Dink Award for directing a fraudulent TV commercial.

Anyway, Matt Harvey has his GIBBY and supermodel Anne V, but will still miss all of 2014.
