Petition to Help Get Gil Hodges into Hall of Fame

As loyal readers (yes, I do have a few!) of this website know, Gil Hodges is one of my idols and I firmly believe he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. The Veterans Committee will consider Hodges again this Fall, so now is the time to start the push to get Gil Hodges to Cooperstown.

I recently found a Facebook page called, aptly enough, “Gil Hodges Belongs in the Hall of Fame.” In addition to being packed with photos and memories of Hodges, there is also a link to a petition to show the Veterans Committee just how much support Hodges has from the public. I urge you to sign this petition, which can be found here.

I laid out the case for the induction of Gil Hodges three years ago when he was last considered. It was ridiculous that he was not elected then (Ron Santo, with lesser stats, got it), and his continued absence from the Hall of Fame is a glaring omission from the hallowed halls.
