Video: Mike Piazza Mets Hall of Fame

The idiot baseball writers may be delaying Mike Piazza’s inevitable enshrinement into Cooperstown, but he is already in the Mets Hall of Fame. He was inducted on September 29, 2013.

For some reason, the Mets chose not to retire Mike Piazza’s number on the same day. They are probably waiting for Piazza to be voted into the Hall of Fame, and see if he goes in with a Mets logo on his cap. But why wait? His number deserves to be retired based in what he did with the Mets, not whether there is an “NY” on his bronze plaque.
