Sandy Alderson met with the media Wednesday morning. Here are some of the highlights:

— Said the Mets “did not play particularly well” in the World Series.

— Starting pitching is “second to none,” but “need to address the offense” and the bullpen “needs a little bit of help.”

— “It hurts” losing World Series.

— In response to a question about the trade value of their starting pitchers, Alderson said “we are very happy with the group of pitchers we have.” It does not sound like he is anxious to trade any of them.
