Mets Sign Marlon Byrd
The Mets have solved their outfield crisis with the blockbuster signing of Michael Bo– I mean Marlon Byrd.
The 35-year-old outfielder signed a minor league deal with an invitation to Spring Training. Oh, and he was suspended for 50 games last June after testing positive for PEDs. Even with the stuff, Byrd managed to hit just .210 with one home run in 153 at bats with the Red Sox and Cubs last season.
Marlon Byrd had a few good years with the Rangers (the hub of PED use) between 2007 and 2009. Was he juicing then as well? You tell me.
Another fine move by Sandy Alderson, genius general manager.
