Jon Rauch Signs with Marlins
The Marlins have reportedly signed former Mets reliever Jon Rauch, which is good because that means he won’t be pitching for the Mets ever again.
Joe Capozzi of The Palm Beach Post tweets that it is a one-year deal. No financial terms have been released yet, but Rauch made $3.5 million last season. There’s no way he’ll make close to that in 2013; only Sandy Alderson was stupid enough to pay him that much money.
Jon Rauch was 3-7 with a 3.59 ERA for the Mets last season. He had stretches when he was very good, but when he was bad, he was pitiful. I had no confidence in him whenever he took to the mound, even when he was in the midst of one of his good stretches.
Good riddance.
