David Wright Gains in All-Star Vote

David Wright has pulled closer to Pablo Sandoval in the race for the starting nod at third base in the All-Star Game. The point might be moot — Sandoval is currently on the disabled list and might not even get to play in the game.

david wrightWright is 125,000 votes behind Sandoval, which is better than the 200,000 he was behind a week ago. Sandoval’s injury and Wright’s current hot streak (he has raised his average from .275 to near .300) are likely the reasons.

Also, I think Mets fans are coming to the realization that it would be very embarrassing if they are unable to vote David Wright into a game that is being played at Citi Field. We’ve suffered enough embarrassment thus far this season with more likely to come; do we really need another one?

By the way, Daniel Murphy is fifth at second base and John Buck is third among catchers.
