Mets to Wear 1986 Uniforms

The Mets will be marking the 30th anniversary of the 1986 world championship year all season long, wearing those throwback uniforms from time to time. Maybe the magic will rub off.

Mets will wear 1986 uniforms this season.

The official celebration will be the weekend of May 27-29, with fan giveaways (limited to the first 15,000, likely) as well as the entire team (hopefully) making it to Citi Field.

I was never a big fan of these particular uniforms; I do not like pull over jerseys in general. And the racing stripe on the pants was never my thing. But we all have such fond memories of that team, so it will be nice to see the current generation of Mets decked out like that legendary team. And hey, at least it’s not camouflage.
