IBWAA Names Jansen, Kimbrel Top Relievers
The Internet Baseball Writers Association of America (IBWAA) on Sunday named Kenley Jansen and Craig Kimbrel the top relievers in their respective leagues.
Jansen was the easy winner in the National League, collecting 656 points, with 124 first-place votes out of the 141 votes cast. Corey Knebel was second (320 points) with Archie Bradley and Greg Holland tying for third with 77 points. I voted in the same order, without Bradley.
Over in the American League, Kimbrel was also an easy winner — 679 points, 131 first-place votes out of 143 ballots. Alex Colome was second (151 points) and Andrew Miller was third with 101 points. I had the top two, with Ken Giles third.
Check back all week as the IBWAA announces all of its postseason awards winners. Who cares about that other writers group?!
