Mets Final 2020 Report Card
Well, that was quick and weird. All the Mets had to do was be .500 and they would have made the playoffs. And they couldn’t even manage that. Since the Mets only played 60 games, it could be difficult to judge the final statistics. So what I did here was extrapolate what players’ numbers would have been over a 162-game schedule (just multiply by 2.7). I did not do this for players acquired at the trade deadline because they were only on the team for a short time. So here it is — the Mets final 2020 report card:
Michael Conforto: A
.322, 9 HRs, 31 RBIs
.322, 24 HRS, 84 RBIs
Finally put together the year we all thought he was capable of.
Jacob deGrom: A
4-2, 2.38 ERA, 104 Ks
11-5, 2.38 ERA, 281 Ks
Suddenly he’s throwing 100 mph? How is that possible?!
Dominic Smith: A
.316, 10 HRs, 42 RBIs
.316, 27 HRs, 113 RBIs
And an emotional team leader, too.
Jeff McNeil: A-
.311, 4 HRs, 23 RBIs
.311, 11 HRs, 62 RBIs
Just a solid, solid player.
Erasmo Ramirez: A-
0-0, 0.63 ERA, 9 Ks, 1 save

Excellent in limited time.

It still wasn’t a good trade.
