David Wright Remains on Hall of Fame Ballot

David Wright received 6.2% of the vote in Hall of Fame results announced Tuesday night, which means he will live to fight again.

For the uninitiated, a player needs 5% to remain on the ballot the following year. By getting more than that, it gives writers a chance to evaluate Wright’s career for possible enshrinement.

I don’t think it will happen and probably should not, but if guys like Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins are getting Hall of Fame pushes in some corners, then Wright deserves similar treatment. By the way, Utley received nearly 29% of the vote in his first try, and Rollins got almost 15% in his third time on the ballot.
