Andrew Brown Returning to Mets
The Mets announced that outfielder Andrew Brown is returning to the team and will be activated before Thursday’s game, giving the Mets a proper five-man bench.
The Mets have been carrying an extra pitcher these past few days, a result of all of those extra inning games in Philadelphia. They will have that extra pitcher for one more night, Wednesday against the Cubs.
It is expected that either Buddy Carlyle or Dana Eveland will be sent down.
Andrew Brown has been tearing it up in Vegas, hitting .359 with 13 home runs and 36 RBIs in 36 games. However, Brown has always done well in the minors and has been unable to equal his success in the majors. He had a homer and five RBIs to go along with a .185 batting average in 10 games with the Mets earlier this season. He did hit seven home runs last year with the Mets in 68 games, but he batted a paltry .227.
