Frank Francisco Back, Tim Byrdak to DL

The Mets announced on Twitter less than an hour before the first pitch of Friday’s game in San Diego that Frank Francisco has been activated from the disabled list. That is no surprise; but to make room for him, Tim Byrdak has been placed on the disabled list.

The Mets say Byrdak has a sore left shoulder.

It was likely that Elvin Ramirez would have been sent down if Byrdak did not get injured, although I would have preferred to see Manny Acosta go away forever. I mean, what’s the point of having him on the team?
