Report: R.A. Dickey will be Traded Friday
ESPNNewYork.com is reporting that its sources expectR.A. Dickey to be traded today (Friday).
“If I was in Vegas, then I would put some money on it,” the source said. “But the way this situation has gone, you never know.”
Other reports say the Mets have intensified trade talks sinceJosh Hamilton signed with the Angels on Thursday, leaving Los Angeles with a surplus of outfielders. The Angels, Rangers and Blue Jays are believed to be the teams with the most interest in Dickey.
The Angels might make Peter Bourjos or Mark Trumbo available, but most reports say there is “no fit” with the Mets, whatever that means exactly.
The Rangers could offer prospects Mike Olt and Leonys Martin, but the Mets are said to not be particularly enamored with either one.
Observers are keeping a close eye on the Blue Jays. They have a catching to deal. Travis d’Arnaud is the most promising, but it appears Toronto would rather trade J.P. Arencibia, who has some power but little else. They also have a hot outfield prospect in Anthony Gose.
Wherever he winds up, it appears R.A. Dickey’s days as a Met are coming to a close.
