IBWAA Elects Maddux, Glavine, Thomas, Biggio to Hall of Fame

Two days before the official Hall of Fame announcement, the Internet Baseball Writers Association of America (IBWAA) has spoken, voting Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Frank Thomas and Craig Biggio into the Hall.

It is important to note that Mike Piazza did not appear on the ballot; the IBWAA correctly voted him in last year. Hopefully the BBWAA will follow our lead on Wednesday.

Maddux appeared on 111 of the 113 ballots cast; two writers abstained for some reason. Glavine got 88% of the vote while Thomas got 84% and Biggio 78%. Like the official vote, 75% is needed for induction.

Jeff Bagwell missed with 69%, while Barry Bonds (57%), Roger Clemens (56%), Barry Larkin (50%; voted in by the BBWAA but never by the IBWAA), Tim Raines (49%) and Curt Schilling (37%) round out the top 10 vote-getters.
