Noah Syndergaard Dominates, Mets Complete Sweep of Brewers
The Mets completed the sweep of the Brewers Sunday at Citi Field behind a dominating performance by Noah Syndergaard.
The Brewers jumped out to an early lead, thanks to an unearned run. Scooter Gennett reached on a throwing error by David Wright. He advanced to second on a ground out and scored in a single.
Michael Conforto tied things up in the bottom of the inning with a solo home run.
The Mets took the lead in the fourth. Conforto led off with a walk. Yoenis Cespedes doubled on a ball that got past Ryan Braun, With one out, Asdrubal Cabrera singled to plate two runs to make it 3-1.
The Brewers had a chance in the seventh. They got runners to first and third with no outs, but Syndergaard was able to get out of it.
Noah Syndergaard allowed just the unearned run on six hits over seven inning. He struck out 11 batters and did not walk anyone. He upped his record to 5-2 and lowered his era to 1.94.
Jeurys Familia came on in the ninth for his 15th save of the season as the Mets won their third in a row, 3-1.
