The Mets got all the runs they needed in the third when Jose Reyes and Asdrubal Cabrera hit back-to-back solo home runs to give the Mets a 2-0 lead. It was the 20th homer of the season for Cabrera.

The Mets added a run in the seventh for good measure on a Yoenis Cespedes single.

Colon allowed just three hits in his outing, with six strikeouts and two walks. Bartolo Colon ups his record to 14-7 and lowers his ERA to 3.14 (Pi!).

Jeurys Familia came in for the ninth. He walked two batters, to bring the potential tying run to bat with two outs. But he was able to get a fly out to end the game, in the process picking up his 49th save of the season.

Mets win 3-0. Now we wait to see what happens in San Francisco between the Giants and Cardinals.
