IBWAA Names Scherzer, Kluber Top Pitchers

The Internet Baseball Writers Association of America (IBWAA) Wednesday named Max Scherzer and Corey Kluber the top pitchers in their respective leagues (I don’t think we’re allowed to say Cy Young!).

Scherzer easily beat Clayton Kershaw, 846-658 points. Zack Greinke, Stephen Strasburg and Gio Gonzalez rounded out the top five. I voted for Kershaw, with Scherzer second, Strasburg third, Greinke fourth and Jacob deGrom a hometown vote for fifth. I couldn’t bring myself to vote for a third National!

Over in the American League, it was Kluber, Chris Sale, Luis Severino, Carlos Carrasco and Justin Verlander. I had Kluber and Sale, flipped Carrasco and Severino and had Ervin Santana fifth.
