IBWAA Names Lovullo, Francona Top Managers

The Internet Baseball Writers Association of America (IBWAA) Tuesday named Torey Lovullo and Terry Francona the top managers in their respective leagues.

The American League race between Francona and Paul Molitor was extremely close. Molitor actually got more first-place votes, 64-57. But Francona collected 468 points to Molitor’s 421. A,J, Hinch finished third. I voted for Molitor, Francona and Joe Girardi.

In the National League, Lovullo was an easy winner over Dave Roberts, 477 points to 250. Bud Black was third. I had Lovullo first, with Black and Roberts flipped.
