Report: Mets Sign Reliever Anthony Swarzak

A report Wednesday afternoon days the Mets have agreed to sign righty reliever Anthony Swarzak. Newsday says it is a two-year deal for $14-million dollars.

Swarzak is 32 years old and seems to have found the fountain of youth. He turned in by far the best year of his career last season, posting a 2.33 ERA with 91 strikeouts in 77.1 innings for the Brewers and White Sox.

Can he keep it up? Well, he pitched for Mickey Callaway and the Indians in 2015, so maybe the Mets manager knows something.

So much for Sandy Alderson not jumping into the “inferno” reliever market!
