David Wright Moves to Mets Front Office

David Wright is set to become the most expensive assistant in the history of mankind. Multiple reports say he is moving into the Mets front office to be a special assistant to GM Brodie Van Wagenen.

Special indeed — Wright is still due $27 million on the final two years of his contract. And it will reportedly only be a part-time job. Not a bad way to make a living.

But seriously folks, David Wright will make a good addition to the Mets front office. Obviously he knows the game and perhaps even better, he knows this team; he has been around long enough to see all the dysfunction. Maybe he can help the team become a better operation. He certainly can’t hurt.
