Video: Jerry Koosman Commercial

No sooner than the Mets traded Jerry Koosman to Minnesota in 1979 did the Twins feature him in a TV commercial. Koosman touts his team chances for the season despite the doubters. They ended up going 82-80, good for fourth place (out of seven) in the AL West. Koosman did his part, winning 2o games in his first season in the Twin Cities.

The Mets, by the way, were 63-99 that year, in last place in the NL East. The player they got for Jerry Koosman, a guy named Jesse Orosco, would pay dividends later.
