Mets Settle With Lucas Duda, Jenrry Mejia
The Mets have come to terms with Lucas Duda and Jenrry Mejia, avoiding dreaded arbitration hearings.
Duda settled for $6.725 million. He asked for $7.4 million, while the Mets offered $5.9 million. Either way, it is a nice raise over the $4.2 million he got last year.
As for Mejia, the two-time PED loser who was tendered a contract for some reason, he will be paid a pro-rated amount of $2.47 million when he comes back in the middle of the season. That is a cut from the $2.595 million he would have gotten last year if he wasn’t such an idiot. He’s lucky to get anything.
The Mets still have to work out deals with Neil Walker and Jeurys Familia, or go to hearings.
