IBWAA Elects Scott Rolen to Hall of Fame

The IBWAA has elected Scott Rolen to the Hall of Fame. He was the only candidate on our ballot to reach the required 75%.

Rolen received just short of 76%. Todd Helton finished with 70%. Andruw Jones and Billy Wagner received 67% and 65%, respectively.

I did not vote for Rolen, whom I do not feel is worthy for induction. Did vote for Wagner, Gary Sheffield (52%) and Francisco Rodriguez (a surprising 21%).

Of course, our vote is mostly symbolic. We’ll see what those other writers have to say when the official Hall of Fame announcement is made on January 24.
