IBWAA Names Scherzer, Ray Top Pitchers

The IBWAA Wednesday announced that Max Scherzer and Robbie Ray have been voted the top pitchers in their respective leagues (can we use “Cy Young?” Still not sure).

Scherzer was the close winner over Corbin Burnes, 240 points to 231 points. Former Met Zack Wheeler was third with 216 points. I voted for Julio Urias, with Scherzer, Wheeler and Burnes two-three-four in that order. If you care, you can see my reasoning here.

In the AL, Ray received 330 points to Gerrit Cole’s 277 points. Lance Lynn was third with 102 points. I voted for Ray, Cole and Lance McCullers.
