Mets Call Up Jacob deGrom

The Mets announced Monday night that they are calling up Jacob deGrom and putting Gonzalez Germen on the disabled list with a virus.

Even though deGrom has always been a starter, he will pitch out of the bullpen, at least for the time being. He is 4-0 with a 2.68 ERA this season in Las Vegas.

This latest move comes hours after the Mets said they would promote Rafael Montero from the minors to start Wednesday’s game against the Yankees.

So it appears the future is now for the Mets.
