Dillon Gee in Hospital, to have Angiogram
Dillon Gee is reportedly in a hospital in New York and is scheduled to undergo an angiogram.
ESPNNewYork.com reports that Gee was taken to a hospital Monday after complaining of numbness in his fingers. One teammate said it was believed to be a blood-related issue in his shoulder.
“We aren’t sure what it is yet,” Terry Collins told the website when reached in Kansas City, where he will be a coach for the All-Star game.
Gee is slated to pitch the first game back from the break on Friday in Atlanta. He had the best start of his season on Saturday when he went eight innings in a win against the Cubs, allowing just one run. Overall Gee is 6-7 with a 4.10 ERA.
Update:
SNY’s Brad Como tweeted that the network has learned that doctors found a blood clot in the artery of Gee’s right shoulder and that Gee will be placed on the 15-day disabled list.
