Matt Harvey vs. Stephen Strasburg

Anybody else excited about tonight’s Matt Harvey vs. Stephen Strasburg match-up? I thought so!

This could be Matt Harvey’s coming out party. We Mets fans have known about him for years, and he quietly turned in a solid third of a season in 2012. Still though, no one outside of the Mets world was really talking about him.

The chatter increased this season with his incredible start — 3-0 with a 0.82 ERA, 25 strikeouts in 22 innings and allowing just six hits. But the entire baseball world will be watching tonight’s glamour duel. If Harvey can match or even best Strasburg, then a star will be born.

The Mets can use a star outside of David Wright. This is Matt Harvey’s big chance.
