Following my wildly successful post on a proposed Shea Stadium that was completely enclosed, today I have images of what a dome would have looked like on old Shea.
There was always a scheme to put a roof on Shea Stadium; in fact, if I am not mistaken, the foundation was built strongly enough that if they ever decided to enclosed the stadium and put a dome on, it would have easily been supported.
The caption on one of the photos claims the roof could have been put on in just eight weeks. Imagine that!
