Mets Offense Explodes for 14 Runs!
Talk about an explosion! The Mets offense had one Saturday night, scoring 14 runs, including 10 in one inning, in the destruction of the Brewers.
It was an unorthodox lineup; Jacob deGrom batted eighth and responded with three hits. And Wilmer Flores, the team leader in home runs, batted ninth. He hit a grand slam for his sixth homer of the year.
Curtis Granderson and Kevin Plawecki also homered in the romp as all of the starters collected at least one hit.
Oh, and deGrom threw six innings of one-run ball, evening his record at 4-4.
Overall it was a satisfying way to snap a five-game losing streak.
