Mets Destroy Braves in Turner Field Farewell
The Mets put Turner Field in their permanent rear view mirror in style, destroying the Braves on Sunday.
The Mets scored one in the first, but Yoenis Cespedes decided that wasn’t enough, hitting a grand slam in the third inning to extend the lead to 5-0. Cespedes now has 30 home runs on the season.
James Loney homered in the sixth to make it a 6-0 game.
Seth Lugo looked to be in trouble in the bottom of the fourth. With a run in and the bases loaded with no outs, he got a pop up and a double play to end the threat.
The Mets put the game out of reach with four runs in the fifth to make it 10-1.
Lugo ended up going seven innings, allowing two runs on six hits. He has won his last four starts. His ERA on the season is 2.40.
Mets win 10-3.
