Yankees Lose! So Happy
I know it’s not nice to revel in the misery of others, but we Mets fans don’t have much to root for this time of year. Except for resigning Jose Reyes or the Wilpons selling the team, nothing can make a Mets fan happier than watching the Yankees lose in the post-season. We got our wish Thursday night, as the Tigers won a nail-biter 3-2 to take the ALDS three games to two.
It always shocks me when the Yankees lose. They have such a good team — I mean, how do you pitch to a lineup which has Jeter, Granderson, Cano, A-Rod and Teixeira one through five? How don’t they score five runs every inning?
But now the Yankees are gone, and we don’t have to endure the indignity of watching them hoist yet another World Series trophy as they parade down the Canyon of Heroes yet again.
