Jason Bay is Back!

Jason Bay has been activated from the disabled list (how many times have I written that sentence?!) and will be in the starting lineup against the Nationals on Tuesday — that is, unless he slips on the dugout steps or has to have his foot amputated after tying the laces on his cleats too tight.

The Mets announced on Twitter that they have designated Omar Quintanilla for assignment to make room for Bay.

As I wrote last week, Bay is the key to the second half. They need strong hitting from the right side, and it is time for Bay to step up and give it to them. They can’t continue to struggle against left handed pitching if they have any hopes of snagging one of the Wild Card berths.
